The Miami Heat star might already have won five during his epic season. But on Monday teammate Dwyane Wade picked up one.
Wade got the nod in the East for averaging 25.3 points, 5.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 steals while shooting 60.6 percent during a 4-0 week. Wade had 23 points and six steals Sunday against Indiana as the Heat won their 18th consecutive game, the longest in the NBA this season and tied for the seventh longest in league history.
Wade started the week in impressive fashion. He had 32 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in a March 4 win at Minnesota.
It marks the first award for Player of the Week this season for any Heat player other than James, who also has won all four awards for Player of the Month.
Lakers star Kobe Bryant was named Western Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Eight players this season have won multiple awards for Player of the Week. Kevin Durant of the West’s Oklahoma City has four, making him the only player other than James with more than two.
