Some of the top high school football players in the country will descend on Phoenix on Tuesday for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, an annual showcase event held at Chase Field.
The East-against-West matchup will kick off at 4 p.m. Arizona time and feature 100 of the nation’s elite recruits, including seven from Arizona. The players are selected by a committee led by prominent recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
This year’s top prospects include running back Russel Shell (a five-star recruit committed to Pitt), tackle Jordan Diamond (five-star, uncommitted), defensive tackle Sheldon Day (five-star, Notre Dame), quarterback Bart Houston (four-star, Wisconsin), cornerback Armani Reeves (four-star, Penn State), tackle Camrhon Hughes (four-star, Texas), receiver Deontay Greenberry (four-star, Notre Dame), safety Demetrious Cox (four-star, uncommitted) and running back/defensive back D.J. Foster (four-star, uncommitted) of Scottsdale Saguaro.

Along with Foster, there are seven other in-state recruits participating for the West team: Chandler Hamilton defensive tackle Jaxon Hood, Chandler safety Zach Hemmila, Gilbert Perry long snapper Rey Higuera, Peoria Centennial safety Zach Hoffpauir, Tempe Corona del Sol defensive end Avery Moss, Show Low receiver Josh Weeks and Chandler receiver Javon Williams.
The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl is a joing venture between JuniorRank Sports and the United States Marine Corps, and the participants are selected based on embodiment of the Marines’ values of honor, courage and commitment. The game is free to the public.
