Bucs cut seven players, including LB Jacob Cutrera
TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trimmed their roster to 75 players, waiving six players and releasing another to reach the total required by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Among those waived include linebacker Jacob Cutrera, who joined the Bucs before the 2011 season and played eight games in each of the past two campaigns. The special-teamer had six combined tackles, three in each season, during his time with Tampa Bay.
Others waived were wide receiver Terriun Crump, wide receiver Chris Denton, tight end Mike Shanahan (signed Monday), guard Adam Smith and defensive back Branden Smith. The Bucs also released tight end Zach Miller.
Tampa Bay has until 6 p.m. Saturday to trim its roster to the 53-man regular-season limit. The Bucs close the preseason against the Washington Redskins on Thursday night at Raymond James Stadium.
