CINCINNATI – The Bengals got down to the NFL roster limit of 75 players Tuesday morning by making six moves. They waived offensive linemen Otis Hudson and Jason Weaver, placed rookie linebacker Sean Porter on injured reserve, waived linebacker Brandon Joiner injured and placed quarterback Zac Robinson and fullback Chris Pressley on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Porter was the team’s fourth round draft choice this year out of Texas A&M. He played in the first preseason game at Atlanta before suffering a shoulder injury that will end his season. Joiner is a first-year player. He played in two preseason games but injured a knee in practice and did not play last week at Dallas. If Joiner clears waivers, which he is expected to do, he will revert to the Bengals’ IR.

Neither Porter or Joiner are eligible to be the player the Bengals designate as their player to return off of IR later in the season.
Robinson (elbow) and Pressley (knee) will be eligible to come off the PUP list after Week 6 of the regular season. Pressley was injured in Week 14 last season, which necessitated the Bengals signing John Conner. Conner and Orson Charles are currently competing for the H-back/fullback position. Robinson has been the team’s No. 3 quarterback the past two seasons, although he has spent all of his time on the practice squad. He injured his elbow in an offseason workout.
Hudson and Weaver each came to the Bengals after training camp started. Weaver was claimed on waivers from Tampa Bay on Aug. 1, while Hudson was signed on Aug. 10.
The Bengals close out the preseason Thursday night at home against Indianapolis. They will have to make 22 more transactions to reach the 53-man roster limit by 6 p.m. on Saturday.
