BOSTON, Mass. — Boston University handed Wisconsin’s men’s hockey squad a one-sided, 7-3 defeat Saturday night.

Boston University, ranked 15th nationally, jumped out to a 3-1 advantage by midway through the second period and never looked back, giving second-ranked Wisconsin (2-2-0) an eye-opening setback.

Boston (3-1-0) was led by Cason Hohmann, who produced three assists and a goal.

The visiting Badgers got goals from Keegan Meuer, Jake McCabe and Michael Mersch. Meanwhile, Landon Peterson (19 saves) was saddled with the loss in goal for Wisconsin. The Badgers lost despite unleashing 43 shots on goal on the night.

After a break, the Badgers return to action Friday, Nov. 1, when they host Lake Superior State at the Kohl Center.
