Look out for

The Yankees (34-25) are playing as well as they have all season. They have won seven of their past nine games and are coming off a three-game sweep of the N.Y. Mets. They’re a half game behind the Rays in the AL East, first in the AL in home runs (92), third in the AL in hitting (.265) and fifth in runs (281). … SS Derek Jeter is hitting .317 and former Brave Mark Teixeira has 11 homers and 36 RBIs. … Tim Hudson was scheduled to start Sunday, but was moved to Wednesday because of bone spurs in his left ankle. … Chipper Jones returned to the lineup on Sunday after coming off the DL and a two-game rehab assignment at Single-A Rome. He was 0-for-3 in Sunday’s loss to the Blue Jays. … The Orioles enter the week at 34-26 after taking two of three from the Phillies. OF Adam Jones is hitting .300 with 17 home runs, 37 RBIs and nine steals.

Who’s hot

Michael Bourn is on another hot streak. He has 13 hits in his past 27 at bats (.481) with a homer, four RBIs and two steals. He’s hit in 10 straight games and has 11 hits in the past four games. … Jason Heyward has hit .320 in the past six games with two homers and six RBIs and has played inspired defense in right field. … Dan Uggla has three home runs and 10 RBIs in the past six games and is hitting .268 with a team-leading 11 home runs and 41 RBIs. He’s also walked a team-leading 41 times. … Rookie SS Andrelton Simmons has already hit his big-league first double, triple and home run. … Closer Craig Kimbrel has been untouchable for a month, allowing just two hits and two walks in his past 11 innings. He has converted all eight of his save opportunities in that span. … Chad Durbin hasn’t allowed a run in his past 10 1/3 innings, dating to May 7. He’s lowered his ERA from 8.25 to 4.43.

Who’s not

Livan Hernandez has allowed 13 hits and nine runs in his past 4 2/3 innings, including seven hits and five runs in 1 2/3 innings in Sunday’s loss to the Blue Jays. His ERA has ballooned from 2.73 to 4.94. … Eric O’Flaherty has given up three hits and two runs in his past four innings, raising his ERA to 3.97. He’s already given up 10 earned runs this year, two more than he allowed in 2011. He walked 21 batters last year; he’s already issued 10 walks in 2012. … Brian McCann has four hits in his 21 at-bats (.190) in June.

On the farm

Julio Teheran was sent back to Triple-A Gwinnett after his start for the Braves on Sunday. He was replaced on the roster by reliever Cory Gearrin, who was 3-0 with seven saves and a 1.65 ERA at Gwinnett. … Joey Terdoslavich was demoted last week from Gwinnett to Double-A Mississippi and switched from third base to first after hitting .180 and making 22 errors in 53 games in Triple-A. … Evan Gattis hasn’t played since May 19 with tendinitis in his wrist. … First-round pick Lucas Sims, a right-hander who grew up a John Smoltz fan in suburban Gwinnett County, said he will report to the club’s Gulf Coast League team on Tuesday. He was 8-1 with a 1.19 ERA his senior season at Brookwood High School.
