Aggies fall to UTEP in women’s basketball

EL PASO, Texas — Danesia Williams led New Mexico State with 13 points on Wednesday night in the Aggies’ 66-44 loss to UTEP at the Don Haskins Center.

UTEP (7-1) dominated early, taking a 36-14 lead at the half.

Junior Jasmine Rutledge added 11 points for the Aggies (5-3).

“We have 13 days to focus on making improvements and preparing for New Mexico and we’ll use every one of those days,” head coach Mark Trakh said. “I think we came back and made some better decisions in the second half. I’m not worried about this team. One thing about this group is they just do not quit.”

The Aggies return to action Dec. 18 with a home game against New Mexico.
