Sochi Olympics: What to watch on Friday

Here’s a rundown of some of the biggest events going on at the Sochi Winter Games on Friday, Feb. 14. (All times Eastern)

Men’s figure skating free skate (10:00 a.m.) — Without Plushenko, who will rise to the occaision? Will the performances be better than the lackluster short program?

Men’s hockey — Czech Republic vs. Latvia (3:00 a.m.), Sweden vs. Switzerland (7:30 a.m.), Canada vs. Austria and Norway vs. Finland (12:00 p.m.)

Women’s skeleton — (11:50 a.m.) Lizzy Yarnold are Noelle Pikus-Pace battling it out going in to the final heats.


Other events of note:

Women’s biathlon 15km (9:00 a.m.)

Men’s classic cross-country 15km (5:00 a.m.)

Men’s and women’s curling round robin sessions 7 and 8 (begins at 12:00 a.m.)

Ladies’ aerials freestyle skiing (qualifiers begin 8:45 a.m., finals 1:12 p.m.)
