Lolo Jones gives insight on her Vine

“Not every Vine I make is going to have layers of

subtext,” Lolo Jones says, and she’s being ironic. Her

Vine feed is not known for its artistry or social commentary. It

more closely resembles something an overcaffeinated teenager would

do. Jones has a lot of energy. She has successfully channeled that

energy from track and field to bobsledding, winning a gold medal in

the 2013 World Championships.

And she has also channeled it into a self-aware, ironic video

commentary in which she projects artistic meaning and artistic

intent to her inane Vine posts.

Pretty good. It’s good to see a little self-awareness.
