Fun facts about Team USA

Team USA is breaking some records at Sochi and the Winter Games haven’t even started yet. Here are some fun facts about the US delegation.

• With 230 athletes, Team USA is the largest delegation ever sent by a country to a Winter Games

• 106 athletes are Olympics veterans — including one five-time Olympian, two four-time Olympians, 10 three-time Olympians.

• Athletes come from 38 states: 20 from California, 19 from both Colorado and Minnesota, and 18 from New York.

• The oldest and youngest: Women’€™s curler Ann Swishelm, 46, and freestyle skier Maggie Voisin, 15. The average age is 26.

• Tallest and shortest: Men’s ice hockey forward Blake Wheeler is the tallest at 6′ 5", and at 5 feet tall, figure skater Marissa Castelli and short track speedskater Jessica Smith are the shortest.

• Twenty-two members of Team USA have children; there are 19 fathers and three mothers.
