Fleming slightly hurt in Biden motorcade accident

A spokesman for Vice President Joe Biden says figure skating

great Peggy Fleming and former bobsled champion Vonetta Flowers

sustained “minor injuries” in a traffic accident while riding in

Biden’s motorcade at the Vancouver Olympics.

Spokesman Jay Carney says the motorcade was carrying members of

the U.S. delegation to an event Sunday when the accident

occurred.

Carney adds that Fleming and Flowers were taken to a hospital as

a precaution and were released. Biden was not involved in the

accident.

Fleming won the gold medal at the 1968 Olympics. Flowers won

gold at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.
