CEO of London 2012 Olympic building group to leave

The chief executive of the company responsible for building the

venues for the 2012 London Olympics is leaving to take another

job.

The Olympic Delivery Authority says David Higgins will depart in

February to become chief executive of Network Rail, where he is

already a non-executive director.

Higgins, an Australian, has led the ODA for five years. He will

be replaced by Dennis Hone, who has been the ODA’s finance director

for the past four years.

Higgins received a $616,300 salary at the ODA, making him the

highest-paid public official in Britain.
