Ice dancer Meryl Davis just skated from Olympic gold medalist to 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 18 champion, joining an elite, fringe group of athletes who've tried their hand at the ballroom and ended up winning the coveted Mirrorball trophy. Here are the other sports figures who've traded the gridiron for the glitter and sashayed away with the 'DWTS' title.

Kristi Yamaguchi - Season 6
The Olympic gold medal-winning figure skater (and show mentor to Meryl Davis) is considered one of the best 'DWTS' champions of all time. She and professional partner Mark Ballas iced the rest of her competition (which included Dolphins linebacker Jason Taylor as runner-up), earning four of the five perfect scores given by the judges during the Season 6 competition.

Shawn Johnson - Season 8
After actress Brooke Burke claimed the trophy in Season 7, Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Shawn Johnson came to take back the championship for the athletes the following cycle, teaming up with Mark Ballas and ultimately leaping over formidable French hunk Gilles Marini to win the coveted Mirrorball trophy.
