For his work in helping the Cincinnati basketball team to a 2-0 week, Justin Jackson was named the player of the week in the American Athletic Conference.
The league announced the honor Monday after Jackson, a senior forward from Cocoa Beach, Fla., averaged a double-double (14.0 points, 10.5 rebounds) in victories over Pittsburgh and Middle Tennessee State.
Jackson shot 81.3 percent from the floor, making 13 of 16 shots, while also averaging 3.0 blocks and 2.5 steals per contest.
The senior is having a career year so far for the Bearcats with averages of 10.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.
