Local ratings for Blue Jackets games on FOX Sports Ohio 3rd highest in franchise history

The Columbus Blue Jackets enjoyed another great regular season and are making a trip to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fifth time.

According to Nielsen, the FOX Sports Ohio’s 2018-19 Blue Jackets regular season averaged a 1.61 household rating in Columbus, which is the third highest ever for the Jackets on FSO. Their second highest rated season is their 2008-09 season (1.86 HH), when the Jackets had their first playoff berth, and their highest rated season in franchise history remains the 2016-17 season (2.09 HH).

This season’s 1.61 HH rating is also up +3% from last season’s 1.59 HH, the team’s 4th highest rated season of all time.=


  • The highest-rated regular season game in 2018-19 was Mar. 11 vs. the New York Islanders (2.99 HH).
  • The 2nd highest-rated game of 2018-19 came on Apr. 5 when the Jackets clinched a playoff berth after defeating the New York Rangers 3-2 in a shootout (2.79 HH).
  • Seven of the top 10 rated games this season came in the 12-game stretch between Mar. 11 and Apr. 5 and included the 3rd highest on Mar. 12 (2.69 HH) and 4th highest on Apr. 4 (2.65 HH).
