Comment of the Day: Johnny “What”?

Johnny Manziel continues his Comment of the Day dominance as over a hundred people weighed in on Zac Jackson’s story "Manziel is Johnny Humble on A&M regent’s proposal".

Even when Johnny Football says the "right" things, there are still a lot of folks who swing by to criticize the new Browns quarterback.

Here are some of the comments we particularly liked:

OKChief gave Manziel some grudging respect:

"That regent is nuts! That "house" was built long before Johnny Football ever set foot in College Station. It’s not Manziel’s fault some dude says something so stupid. On the other hand, the kid has delivered an excellent response and for the first time I say "Kudos to Johnny Manziel"!! Well said."

the_bull let his opinion fly, noting that Aggie traditions were around long before Manziel and will remain after his pro career is over:

"You would think that Johnny Manziel started the Texas A & M football program, invented the 12th man, and even supplied his dog as the Aggies mascot. The program had a tradition 80 yrs. ago and will have a tradition 80 yrs. after Johnny Manziel. My father was part of the cadet corps 70 yrs. ago and they had a 12th man, mascot and even the annual bonfire back then. Unfortunately, the bonfire has been discontinued, but the spirit that is Aggie football will be around as long as the school is."

Finally, LtReese1996 wrote about the possibility of renaming Kyle Field:

"Johnny Manziel is right, he didn’t do this by himself. It is unfair to rename a stadium for someone who was there for only 2 years. I like Johnny and I’ll be watching his career in Cleveland. When a stadium is named after someone like Bear Bryant, that”s due to all the years he gave to the game. Johnny, I’m pulling for you (I’ve left other remarks that show I support you). But renaming Kyle Field is not something that should be done lightly. "
