Ice goes down at Nationwide Arena

September’s here, summer’s whittling away and ice is being put down at the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

All that means hockey is getting very, very close.

The Blue Jackets preseason slate begins in less than three weeks with a matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Nationwide Arena.

Ice is a prerequisite for that and the Blue Jackets detailed the process of that happening Thursday on social media.

Soon enough it will be opening night for the Jackets, who start the season Oct. 9 against the New York Rangers.
