Indians-Rangers game postponed by rain
CLEVELAND (AP) — The game between the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians has been postponed by rain Tuesday night.
The game was called off at 7:25 p.m, about 15 minutes after the scheduled start. The teams will play a traditional doubleheader at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Ariel Jurado was scheduled to start for the Rangers while rookie Zach Plesac was the Indians' scheduled pitcher.
The Rangers used a strong pitching performance to blank the Indians 1-0 for their fifth straight win Monday night. Starter Zach Minor struck out seven in seven innings while Jesse Chavez and José Leclrec split the eighth and ninth.
Texas won six straight from June 22-28. Cleveland trails Minnesota by four games in the AL Central and leads the wild card race by two games.
