After winning five of seven games on the road, and three straight against the Chicago White Sox, the Indians were understandably in a good mood heading home late Thursday night.
So Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis took the opportunity to have a little fun at the expense of relief pitcher Bryan Shaw. The Indians were leading 5-0 with two outs in the ninth inning when White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers connected off of Shaw for a two-run homer, preventing the shut-out. Shaw would retire the next batter for the Tribe and preserve the win.
During the return flight to Cleveland, Jason Kipnis took control of the plane’s PA system to inform the team that the ball Flowers hit should be coming into view out of the passenger windows.
