Free-agent center/forward Lou Amundson has agreed to a contract with the Cavaliers, according to a tweet from Amundson’s agency.

"Congrats @LouAmundson17 on signing with the @cavs!" Priority Sports tweeted Friday. "We’re excited for you Louuuuuu!"

Basketball website HoopsHype.com reported last week the Cavs were among the teams Amundson was considering.

Amundson, 31, has spent eight years in the NBA with nine different teams. The 6-foot-9 "energy guy" played 18 games with the New Orleans Pelicans last season, and one with the Chicago Bulls, compiling averages of 2.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

It is believed Amundson’s deal with the Cavs will be non-guaranteed, although nothing was signed or official as of Friday afternoon.

The Cavs begin training camp a week from Saturday.
