Cavs may start negotiations with 2011 second-round pick

Milan Macvan celebrates Serbia's victory in the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

The Cavaliers are expected to start contract negotiations with Serbian big man Milan Macvan, a source told FOX Sports Ohio on Tuesday.

Macvan was selected by the Cavs in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft with the No. 54 overall selection. He has remained overseas since.

The 6-foot-9 power forward played one season (2010-11) under new Cavs coach David Blatt when the two were with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. Macvan has since played in Serbia and Turkey.

Macvan’s contract with his Turkish club, signed in 2012, expired at the end of the season. While the Cavs are interested and may be willing to start negotiating, sources believe they won’t pay Macvan nearly as much as he can generate overseas.
