A pair of defensive linemen, Ohio State’s Joey Bosa and Ohio University’s Tarell Basham, earned first-team honors on the Football Writer’s Association of America’s All-American Team.

Bosa, of Fort Lauderdale, had 7.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for a loss and looks like a future star for the Buckeyes. Basham, of Rocky Mount, Va., had 7.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss in five starts for the Bobcats.

Basham and Western Michigan receiver Corey Davis were the only two Mid-American Conference players on the team and became the 15th and 16th MAC players, ever, respectively, to be named to the FWAA Freshman All-American Team.

The only Ohio native on the team was Michigan State kicker Michael Geiger of Toledo (Ottawa Hills High School).
