Twins tie Rockies 5-5 in spring finale
Nelson Cruz and C.J. Cron hit home runs in the first inning, as the Minnesota Twins tied the Colorado Rockies 5-5 through nine innings in the final game of spring training Tuesday in Fort Myers.
Daniel Murphy and Nolan Arenado homered in the top of the first to give the Rockies a three-run lead, but Cruz and Cron answered, tying the game in the bottom of the first.
The two-run shot was Cruz's first since signing with the Twins in January.
Michael Pineda got the start for the Twins, allowing three hits, two earned runs and two walks in five innings while striking out seven.
Taylor Rogers, Austin Adams, Adalberto Mejia, Pat Dean and D.J. Baxendale also pitched for the Twins.
Minnesota opens the regular season Thursday against the Cleveland Indians at Target Field.
