Wolves' Covington, Rose, Teague out for the season

Forward Robert Covington, guard Jeff Teague and guard Derrick Rose are expected to miss the rest of the season, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday.

Acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers as part of the Jimmy Butler trade on Nov. 12, Covington hasn't played since suffering a bone bruise in his right knee on Dec. 31.

Covington, 28, averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.1 blocks while shooting 37.2 percent from 3-point range in 22 games for the Wolves this season.

Rose, 30, has missed the past four games, while an MRI conducted Tuesday revealed a fracture to Rose's elbow.

Rose averaged 18 points, 4.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field in 51 games this season.

Teague, 30, has also missed the past four games due to inflammation in his left foot.

Teague averaged 12.1 points, 8.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 42.3 percent from the field this season.

Now ranked 10th in the Western Conference, the Wolves (32-39) have struggled in their absence, losing four straight games to the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors.

The Wolves have 11 games left, and wrap up the regular season in Denver on April 10.
