The Gophers have another coaching vacancy.

Women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings is leaving Minnesota after four seasons at the helm to coach Texas Tech, the school announced Monday.

"We have already begun identifying candidates to be our next head coach," athletic director Mark Coyle said in a statement. "Our program has a history of success, brand new facilities that are among the best in the country and a talented core returning."

Stollings' fourth season at the helm was her most successful with the Gophers. Minnesota went 24-9, finishing third in the Big Ten, and won its first NCAA tournament game since 2009,

The Gophers went 82-47 during Stollings' tenure, and 38-30 in the Big Ten.

It's the second time this year that Coyle has had to replace one of his coaches. Minnesota hired Bob Motzko to coach the men's hockey team just a week after former head coach Don Lucia resigned.
