MINNEAPOLIS — Kevin Love will have a chance to reclaim the 3-point crown he earned two years ago.

The NBA announced Thursday night that Love, the Timberwolves power forward, will participate once again in All-Star weekend’s annual long-range contest at New Orleans Arena. Love won the event in 2012 but was out with an injury for most of last season.

This year, he’s already made a career-high 107 3-pointers, which ranks 13th in the NBA and fourth among frontcourt players. Voted in by fans as a Western Conference All-Star starter, Love is shooting 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

On Dec. 13 in San Antonio, he tied a franchise record with eight made 3s.

The Foot Locker 3-point Contest is the third event of the league’s All-Star Saturday Night, which begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 15. The All-Star Game is the next day.
