Canucks Coffee: Why Kevin Lankinen matters, how Tyler Myers measured up, Dakota Joshua sighting Things often go bump in the night in Philadelphia where beating the Flyers often means the Canucks must get a little beat up

Jake DeBrusk - Slides helper Saturday DeBrusk notched an assist and seven hits in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Flyers.
Impact DeBrusk has shuffled around the lineup a bit early in the year, but he's been consistent regardless of his spot. The winger has four helpers, nine shots on net, 16 hits, six PIM and a plus-1 rating through five contests. He's still looking for his first goal, but DeBrusk should be steady enough on offense and with physical play to be a worthy depth winger in many fantasy formats.

Kiefer Sherwood - Throws body around in win Sherwood scored a goal on five shots, doled out nine hits and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Flyers.
Impact Sherwood has two points and 19 hits over his last two games. The 29-year-old winger brings a physical edge in a bottom-six role, but it's impressive he's logged such high hit totals in a pair of games away from home -- official hit counts tend to be more favorable in a player's home arena. Sherwood could produce offense around the same pace as the 27 points he had in 68 regular-season contests last year. If his hit totals continue to be lofty, he could push for 300-plus in 2024-25, which gives him another path to fantasy relevance despite modest scoring.

Nils Hoglander - Deposits opening goal Hoglander scored a goal and added three hits in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Flyers.
Impact Hoglander scored from in tight at 16:09 of the first period, and that ended up being the game-winning tally in the shutout. The 23-year-old winger has racked up three points, eight shots on net, 11 hits, four PIM and a plus-1 rating over five contests this season. The Canucks are still juggling their lines a bit, but Hoglander has the potential to stick in a top-six role if he remains productive with more minutes.

Samuel Ersson - Surrounded by horror on ice Ersson made 29 saves in a 3-0 loss to the Canucks on Saturday.
Impact It was horror on ice for the Flyers, who were outclassed in every area of the ice except in the net. Ersson was the best Flyer on the ice, but one man cannot win a game. He's 1-1-1 with a 2.99 GAA and .894 save percentage, and unfortunately for fantasy managers, those stats aren't likely to improve much this season.
OCTOBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Brock Boeser - Three-game point streak Boeser scored a goal Saturday in a 3-0 win over the Flyers.
Impact Boeser scored from the left post on a pass from Tyler Myers. It was his third goal and fifth point of the season, and he has a point in each of his last three games (one goal, two assists). Boeser is coming off the best season of his career, and he is looking to build on that 40-goal, 73-point campaign.
