Zemgus Girgensons - Exits Saturday's game Girgensons (undisclosed) won't return to Saturday's preseason game versus the Panthers, Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley reports.
Impact Girgensons was hit hard into the boards by Carter Verhaeghe, who was ejected from the contest for the hit. The 31-year-old Girgensons joins a growing list of injured players for the Lightning after a sequence of bruising preseason contests against their in-state rivals. It's unclear if the Latvian forward will be healthy for the regular-season opener Thursday versus the Senators.

Pontus Holmberg - Drawing in Saturday Holmberg undisclosed) will play in Saturday's preseason game versus the Panthers, Lightning radio announcer Dave Mishkin reports.
Impact Holmberg was cleared for contact at practice Thursday, and he'll get some game action just a couple of days later. The 26-year-old forward's injury cost him just under a week of preseason play. He'll make one more push Saturday for the Opening Night roster, though he's likely to be limited to bottom-six minutes at best.

Erik Cernak - Out Saturday Cernak (undisclosed) is set to miss Saturday's preseason game against Florida, per Lightning radio announcer Dave Mishkin.
Impact Cernak had three goals, 21 points, 50 PIM, 157 hits and 99 blocks across 76 regular-season appearances with Tampa Bay last year. If he's not available for the Lightning's regular-season opener versus Ottawa on Thursday, then that would significantly increase the chances of Max Crozier being in the lineup.

Impact Hagel was roughed up by AJ Greer in the first period, and ultimately the Lightning decided to keep him off the ice for the rest of the game. It's possible this is just precautionary, as it's preseason and Hagel's roster spot is not in doubt. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the winger also sit out Saturday's preseason finale versus the Panthers, as Thursday's contest became an aggressive physical battle.

Pheonix Copley - Snagged off waivers Copley was picked up off waivers by the Lightning from the Kings on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Impact The decision to add Copley to the Bolts' roster is an interesting one considering Andrei Vasilevskiy has been dealing with an undisclosed injury during training camp -- though he is reportedly nearing a return to action. The team already has Jonas Johansson in the fold to serve as the No. 2 option but it seems the club may not have full confidence in his abilities. As for Copley, the likely won't be the last time he's placed on waivers this season. If he stays with Tampa for the whole year, Copley figures to see around 20 regular-season appearances behind the workhorse Vasilevskiy.

Impact Hedman sustained an undisclosed injury during Friday's preseason game against Carolina, and he hasn't been seen on the ice since then. However, the Lightning hope that he'll be available for next Thursday's Opening Night matchup against the Senators. The 34-year-old made 79 regular-season appearances last year, racking up 15 goals, 51 assists, 133 blocked shots, 39 hits and 30 PIM while averaging 23:05 of ice time.
