The Canucks scored a disastrous own goal into an empty net

The Vancouver Canucks tried to take advantage of a pending penalty by pulling their goaltender to given themselves an extra attacker in the first period against the Flames Saturday, but it backfired spectacularly when Loui Eriksson passed in an own goal from the center line.

Calgary's Troy Brouwer got credit for the goal. Fortunately for Eriksson, the Canucks came back to win in a shootout.
