Toronto Maple Leafs: Vote For Frank Corrado, FC16
As I did my hourly scroll through the Twitter universe, I came across an interesting tweet by the Toronto Star’s Kevin McGran on a Toronto Maple Leafs defender:

So basically Mr. McGran has done the heavy-lifting on this project, and shown us that we can in fact vote for Frank. You know he is going to win.

Toronto Maple Leafs Nation is too huge to topple in any vote. You know it. I know it. Everybody knows it. I think it is just too good of an opportunity to let slip through our fingers.
For those of you unfamiliar with the situation, Frank “the Franchise” Corrado was fortuitously scooped up on waivers last year. The increasingly dysfunctional Canucks tried to pull a fast one on the league and sneak Frankie into the minors, when he was picked up by the Leafs. But Corrado has been relegated to the press box with very limited ice-time, thus potentially damaging his career.
Do I feel bad for Frank Corrado? Yes and No. He’s still earning an NHL paycheque to watch Leafs games. Want to trade lives? But on the flip side of the coin, the poor guy has presumably worked his butt off to make it to the NHL, albeit as a fringe player.
With the Leafs suspect D, many have criticized Toronto brass for not giving Frank a longer look. The Leafs new team-first, win at all costs attitude is what it is. If they think they are better off keeping him as an insurance policy in the press box, that’s what they will do.
It’s a business, and make no mistake about it, the Leafs are finally managed by winners. They aren’t interested in feelings, or fairness. These people want Stanley Cups. Sweet Lou would probably shave Frank’s mother’s head if it meant he would win. Ruthless! I love it.
Even though I technically agree with the spirit of the team, I’m still a human too. If you cut me, do I not bleed? I’d love to see Frank Corrado get voted into the All-Star game and light it up. Kurt Russell seems to be in pretty good shape. Maybe he could play Babcock in the film adaptation? (Whistle blow) AGAIN!
Anyone a House of Cards fan? Because FC16 has a good ring to it. So get out there and vote for Frank. It’s your patriotic duty as a Leafs fan.
