P.A. Parenteau celebrated his first goal as a Maple Leaf Wednesday night.

Both P.A. Parenteau and the Toronto Maple Leafs registered a first in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Sabres. Parenteau found the back of the net for the first time as a Maple Leaf, and the goal — which came 1:28 into the game — marked the first time this year that the Maple Leafs scored the first goal of the game.

The joy of the moment dimmed a bit when the Leafs ended up with a loss, but the Leafs at least managed to get a point out of the game by pushing it to a shootout.

Parenteau recorded eight goals and 14 assists in 56 games with the Canadiens last season. He has two points (the goal and an assist from a 5-4 loss to the Senators on Oct. 10) through six games this season.
