Tampa Bay Lightning F Ondrej Palat Out Against Vancouver Canucks

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ondrej Palat will not take the ice with his teammates tonight at the Rogers Arena as the team takes on the Vancouver Canucks.

The Tampa Bay Lightning has broken the cycle of misery and finally found a way to start winning games. This new manner of play was highlighted by the Lightning’s 6-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

Unfortunately, there is still one particularly dark cloud looming over the heads of the Tampa Bay Lightning…the seemingly endless stream of injuries. The Lightning lost their leading points scorer, Nikita Kucherov, right before they took the ice to face off with the Flames.

As the Tampa Bay Lightning prepare to take on their next opponent, the Vancouver Canucks, it seems as if the team will be missing yet another piece to their offensive puzzle. According to Lightning Beat Writer Bryan Burns, Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper announced Lightning forward Ondrej Palat will be out tonight against the Canucks.

The 25-year-old Czech forward has played in a total of 30 games thus far with the Tampa Bay Lightning. In that amount of time, Palat has scored four goals and nine assists for a total of 13 points. Palat is currently tied with Jonathan Drouin for seventh place on the team in overall points.

The scoreboard hasn’t exactly been Ondrej Palat’s best friend this season; however, this doesn’t mean Palat hasn’t made an impact on the ice.

As the season has forged on, it has become much more apparent Palat is finding his groove amongst all the chaos.

The Lightning faces a tough challenge tonight in Canada. Needless to say, the Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t fare so well in their last encounter with the Vancouver Canucks. On December 8th at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, the Canucks trounced the Bolts 5-1.

There is no denying the Lightning will be looking for a taste of sweet revenge tonight against the Canucks. Unfortunately, this task will have to be achieved without a number of the team’s key players. Will the Lightning be able to overcome yet another obstacle and create a winning streak? Only time will tell.
