Stars player slides across dasher before scoring goal
Dallas Stars forward Radek Faksa didn’t score the best goal of the year on Thursday, but he may have had the most stylish zone entry of the season.
New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield tried to catch Faksa with a hip check near the Stars bench during a second period rush. Unfortunately for Mayfield, the Stars center saw it coming and pulled a gnarly maneuver to avoid it.
He cleanly slid right across the dasher in a grind that would have made any skateboarder proud.

Not only did Faksa quickly regain possession in the offensive zone, he dished the puck off and then wound up scoring a few seconds later. It only seemed right that he was rewarded with a goal after that wild entry.
The Stars in-game operations crew decided to have some fun with the highlight on the jumbotron later in the period, giving it a proper “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater” treatment.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope this becomes a more regular occurrence.
