Sidney Crosby joins the 1,000-point club with assist against Jets

Sidney Crosby moved into quadruple digits for career scoring on Thursday night, joining the 1,000-point club on a first-period assist of a Chris Kunitz goal against the Jets.

After outmuscling a defender to win a loose puck, Crosby fed Kunitz for a one-timer that found the back of the net. Following the tally, Crosby was saluted with a roaring ovation from the hometown crowd, which included his parents.

Playing in just his 757th game, Crosby becomes the 12th-fastest player (and 46th overall) in NHL history to reach the milestone. The 29-year-old currently ranks fifth all-time in career points-per-game and is pushing for a third Art Ross Trophy this year despite missing the first six games of the season.
