Sharks acquire Reimer in trade with Maple Leafs

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) The San Jose Sharks have acquired goaltender James Reimer and forward Jeremy Morin from the Toronto Maple Leafs for goaltender Alex Stalock, forward Ben Smith and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft.

Reimer adds depth in goal for the Sharks, who have Martin Jones as their starter. Reimer has a 2.19 goals-against average and .918 save percentage this season.

The 27-year-old has 207 games of NHL experience. He's a pending unrestricted free agent.

Reimer and Morin, who has been in the American Hockey League, are the third and fourth Leafs players San Jose has added in the past week. The Sharks traded two second-round picks and Raffi Torres to Toronto for defenseman Roman Polak and forward Nick Spaling last week.
