Kesler’s buzzer-beater blow triggers Wild-Ducks melee

Forget buzzer-beaters. Ryan Kesler prefers delivering buzzer-beat-ups.

At the end of the Ducks’ 2-1 win over the Wild, Kesler delivered a blistering check on Mikael Granlund, sending the Minnesota center crashing into the sideboards as the final horn sounded.

This, of course, triggered a mini-melee on the ice, with left winger Zach Parise leading the way to jump to Granlund’s defense.

Kesler landed a major for charging, while Parise was awarded a game misconduct and a major for cross-checking.

Wild players were none too pleased with the cheap shot, especially Parise.

"Game’s over. It’s stupid," he told the Star-Tribune.

Cheap shot or not? Check it out in the video below.

Players on both sides will simmer about this one for awhile, as the teams won’t meet again until Dec. 5 in Minnesota.
