Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang suffered a concussion in Saturday’s win over the Arizona Coyotes and is sidelined indefinitely, head coach Mike Johnston said Sunday morning.

Letang, who has a history of concussions and who suffered a stroke last year, was injured when he hit his head on the boards following a check from Coyotes forward Shane Doan in the second period of Saturday’s game.

He was taken to the hospital but has been released.

Letang, 27, has 11 goals and 43 assists in 69 games this season.
