Puke on ice: Veteran NHL ref loses cookies during Pens-Bolts game
Referee Mike Leggo has worked more than 1,000 NHL games, but he probably never experienced what happened on Friday night in Pittsburgh.
During the first period of the Penguins-Tampa Bay Lightning game, Leggo let it go … literally.
The game was delayed briefly — probably for a quick clean-up by some ice girls — and Leggo, an NHL ref since the mid-90’s, left the game and didn’t return.
The game, won by the Penguins 6-3, finished with a three-man officiating crew.

If Mike Leggo had waffles for his pre-game meal, the irony would be outstanding.
