New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad suffered a brutal leg injury during overtime of Sunday's game against the Florida Panthers and the injury will put him out of commission for several weeks.

Zibanejad slid feet-first into the boards less than a minute into OT at Madison Square Garden and was clearly in a lot of pain in the immediate aftermath. One look at the replay and it's easy to see why, as Zibanejad went in awkwardly  and his leg took the brunt of the damage.

(Warning: The video is tough to watch.)

It was revealed after the game that the 23-year-old Swede suffered a broken left fibula and will likely miss around 6-8 weeks. That's a very tough loss for the Rangers, as Zibanejad has become an important skill player down the middle for New York.
