Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Late Second Point

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks stole a point last night when Marian Hossa knocked in the puck behind Braden Holtby with less than 30 seconds left in the contest and with that goal the Hawks unbeaten streak continued!

The one thing about the last few games that you have to like when talking about the Chicago Blackhawks is they are starting to out shoot opponents even when they don’t pick up the W.  On Friday night, they out shot the Capitals 34-28 in their 3-2 overtime loss.

The one player that has really turned it around is Marian Hossa.  Hossa seems to have found the fountain of youth, and now has 8 goals in the first 15 games unlike last season when he only scored 13 goals in 63 games.  Most of the summer, Hawks fans mumbled that Hossa would be a boat anchor this season, but instead of being a sore spot on the roster he’s been fantastic looking like he did 2-3 years ago.

The other player that has been locked in all season long has been Corey Crawford who gave up one bad goal on Friday night, but the rest of the game he was rock solid, and he’s the biggest reason the Hawks were so close to an 8 game winning streak last night.

This two game homestand before the Hawks head on to their circus trip is a really solid test with the Capitals and Montreal Canadiens in town.  The Hawks picked up a tough point on home ice last night, and now they face a team Sunday that has only lost one time so lets measure up these Hawks after the weekend.
