Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Countdown

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! I’ve lost track of what day we are at the countdown to Chicago Blackhawks opening night, but the good news is that it’s getting closer and closer to opening night!

The Chicago Blackhawks training camp roster was released this past week, and it sure is exciting to know no matter what names are on that roster and even if they aren’t opening up at the University of Notre Dame the countdown is getting closer everyday.

The Chicago Blackhawks training camp roster will not look like it normally does because of how much talent will be playing at the World Cup of Hockey.

This of course is a great opportunity for the young prospects to really make a name for themselves this year during training camp like Joakim Nordstrom and Kyle Baun have done in previous seasons.

The opportunities on the roster are there for youngsters to seize the day! Nick Schmaltz, Tyler Motte, Vincent Hinostroza, and Ryan Hartman are all expected to be fighting for roster spots when camp opens in a couple of weeks.

The question for me is will there be a dark horse that no one sees having a chance to make the roster that we haven’t talked about this offseason?

Is there another Baun who granted only played in 2 games last year can make the Chicago Blackhawks roster out of training camp?  Could Alexandre Fortin who really impressed during prospect camp carry over his play all the way to training camp?

Can Tanner Kero or Dennis Rasmussen who both played quite a bit last year come into training camp and say this is my time and make the opening night roster?

Lots of questions and not much time left!!
