The Carolina Hurricanes have named former captain Rod

Brind’Amour and former NHL head coach Dave Lewis to their coaching

The Hurricanes on Tuesday said Lewis would be an assistant coach

and work with their defensemen, and Brind’Amour will carry the

titles of assistant coach and development coach.

The team also announced new positions for two of last season’s

operations and added Tom Rowe to their pro scouting staff.

Brind’Amour, the captain of Carolina’s only Stanley Cup

summer and was named director of forwards development. Lewis
