Brett Connolly's second goal Wednesday night was very impressive.

Brett Connolly could be deserving of a tryout with the Boston Red Sox. The Bruins' winger showed off his batting skills in an preseason game against the New York Rangers Wednesday.

The chance came off a rebound of a Zach Trotman shot which popped up into the air. Connolly was able to make contact with the tip of his stick's blade to whip it past Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.

Connolly had both of Boston's goals in the 3-2 loss to the Rangers, but the Bruins did put 41 shots on Lundqvist. The offense is a good indicator for Connolly that he might finally be able to make an impact with the Bruins after having to sit out all but five games for the Bruins last spring. Connolly was traded to the Bruins at the deadline last year but broke a finger in just his second practice with the team.
