    News

Drouin will not be in the lineup versus the Rangers on Thursday due to his lingering ankle problem.

    Impact

Drouin previously missed a Feb. 15 clash with Dallas as a result of his ankle injury and apparently was playing through the issue in his last four outings. Since returning from a wrist injury that cost him 37 games earlier this year, the Quebec native has yet to get onto the scoresheet and is pointless in his last eight appearances. With the 24-year-old sidelined, it could be an opportunity for Artturi Lehkonen or Paul Byron to slot into a top-six role.

    News

Drouin (ankle) will be in the lineup against the Red Wings on Tuesday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports.

    Impact

Drouin will return after just one game on the shelf due to his ankle issue. In four contests back from his 37-game absence, Drouin failed to register a point and hasn't scored a goal since Oct. 31 versus Vegas. With Brendan Gallagher (lower body) in doubt Tuesday, Drouin figures to slot into a top-six role and will look to get back onto the scoresheet.

    News

Drouin is dealing with an ankle injury, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

    Impact

Drouin initially suffered a sprained ankle versus the Bruins on Wednesday. He was able to play through it Friday against the Penguins, but couldn't go Saturday versus the Stars. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined by the injury, but the fact that he's played through it for a bit suggests it may not be too serious.

    News

Drouin (lower body) won't play Saturday versus Dallas.

    Impact

Drouin will miss Saturday's contest because of a lower-body injury, and Jordan Weal will replace him in Montreal's lineup. No word on how severe Drouin's injury is, but expect his team to update his status following the game.

    News

Drouin has two shots and zero points in the two games since returning from a wrist injury.

    Impact

It sounds like a slow restart for Drouin, which is natural after he missed 37 games. He had 11:49 of ice time in Saturday's overtime loss to Toronto and followed it up with 13:43 in a loss to the Coyotes on Monday. The presumption should be that he gets more shifts Wednesday against Boston.
