Philadelphia Flyers rookie defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere scored his third overtime goal of the season and second versus the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. The 22-year-old, who netted the decisive winner in a 3-2 victory against Carolina on Nov. 23, upset the Metropolitan Division rival again to cap the Flyers' 4-3 triumph at Wells Fargo Center.

Blackhawks' Crawford notches third shutout in four games
Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford recorded his third shutout in four outings after turning aside all 33 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. The shutout was the league-leading fifth for Crawford, who became the first netminder in franchise history to notch three blankings in four games since Tony Esposito (Feb. 13-20, 1974).

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner recorded his second hat trick in three contests (and third career hat trick) on Tuesday when he netted three goals in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. The 23-year-old, who also recorded a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Anaheim on Dec. 11, has scored nine times in a six-game stretch to lead the team with 14 tallies on the season.
