Impact:
News: Jost (undisclosed) will return to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.
Impact: Jost has enjoyed a decent rookie campaign, notching three goals and eight points in 27 contests, but he's not a viable starting option in all but the deepest of season-long fantasy formats at this stage in his career. The 19-year-old pivot will probably slot into a bottom-six role Saturday, but he'll also likely see time on the man advantage against the Rangers.
News: Andrighetto (leg) has been placed on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.
Impact: Andrighetto has been sidelined since December with the leg injury, making his placement on injured reserve unsurprising. His presence at practice in a non-contact jersey is a good sign, but the team will need to activate him off the list before he can return to action. A return to full contact during practice should precede that return, but he appears to be making some progress in his rehab.
News: Jonathan Bernier stopped 45 of 48 shots in the Avalanche' 5-3 win over the Sharks on Thursday. The victory pushed him to 12-7-1 on the season with a 2.69 GAA and .917 save percentage.
Impact: Bernier ran his winning streak to a career-best seven games, a stretch in which he's posted a ridiculous .957 save percentage. He's filling in with starter Semyon Varlamov sidelined by a lower-body injury.

Impact:
News: Patrik Nemeth had 21:50 of ice time in the Avalanche's 5-3 win over the Sharks on Thursday. He didn't take a shot and had a plus-minus of even for the game.
Impact:
News: Landeskog recorded an assist, two shots and two minor penalties through 18:42 of ice time (4:10 with the man advantage) during Thursday's 5-3 win over San Jose.
Impact: The winger is having a rebound campaign, and he's been particularly strong since returning from a four-game suspension in early December with seven goals, 10 assists, 35 shots and 12 PIM through 18 contests. Landeskog is locked in with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen in all situations, and the trio has been dynamic, combining for 4.6 goals per 60 minutes and just 2.05 against.
News: Girard registered a power-play assist and logged 14:46 of ice time (4:16 with the man advantage) during Thursday's 5-3 win over San Jose.
Impact: The rookie defenseman now has seven assists -- six on the power play -- through his past eight games, as he continues to take advantage of his offensive role. Girard's current pace is definitely unsustainable, but there's also room for him to cool off and still be a serviceable fantasy assist in deeper settings. Just note: he struggles to move the needle in most peripheral categories because he's not logging much ice time.
News: Yakupov recorded one shot through 9:10 of ice time (2:09 with the man advantage) during Thursday's 5-3 win over San Jose.
Impact: It's easy to poke fun at Yakupov because he was the first overall selection from the 2012 draft, and he's definitely failed to live up to expectations to this point of his career. Slotting into a depth role hurts his scoring potential, so while his offensive numbers have been disappointing this year (eight goals and 13 points through 38 games), it's not a great fantasy setup, either. It's probably safe to continue fading Yakupov in the majority of settings at this stage of the game.
News: Nieto scored for the second consecutive game and added a helper in Thursday's win over the Sharks.
Impact: Nieto only has nine goals in 37 games this season, but five of those goals have come in his last 10 games. The Avalanche have won eight straight and he's been a threat throughout the winning streak. Nieto doesn't play on the power play, however, and he isn't a big-time offensive producer, so know what you're getting. With 17 points on the season, the 25-year-old is on track for a career season, making him worth owning in some deep leagues.
News: Comeau dished out a pair of helpers in Thursday's win over the Sharks.
Impact: The Avalanche have now won eight straight games and Comeau has found a way to chip in. The second-line winger has racked up four points (one goal) in his last three games and is up to 20 points in 44 contests on the season. The lack of power-play time hurts his fantasy value, but Comeau still has value in deeper fantasy leagues due to his decent scoring ability and solid PIM totals.
News: Bernier stopped 45 of 48 shots for his seventh consecutive victory Thursday against San Jose.
Impact: Bernier has been excellent for a red-hot Avalanche squad that currently occupies a playoff position. The 29-year-old has taken over the starting role for Semyon Varlamov (groin) and has allowed just 10 goals in his last seven games. He's already been named the starter for Saturday's matchup with the Rangers and has seen a massive increase in his fantasy value with the increased workload. This sensational play likely won't last forever, but Bernier is on fire right now and is certainly worth getting in your lineup whenever the Avalanche are in action.
News: Rantanen scored his 16th goal of the season and had two assists in Thursday's win over the Sharks.
Impact: The Avalanche have now won eight straight games and Rantanen continues to play an important role. The Finnish stud has 16 goals and 44 points in 44 games on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and is showing no signs of slowing down. He's become a star in Colorado and needs to be in your lineup every game.
News: MacKinnon scored a power-play goal, added an even-strength marker and had an assist in Thursday's win over the Sharks.
Impact: The Avalanche have now won eight straight games and MacKinnon has at least a point in every one. The 22-year-old's phenomenal offensive breakout season continues, as he's scored in four straight games and now has 22 goals and 57 points through 44 games. The Avalanche are a threat for the first time in a while and MacKinnon is a huge reason why. The first-line center has 17 points (seven goals) during this eight-game point streak and is fantasy gold in all formats.
News: Bernier is scheduled to start against the Sharks on Thursday and the Rangers on Saturday, The Denver Post reports.
Impact: Behold, the ever-elusive multi-day goalie confirmation. Of course, Bernier continuing to hog Colorado's net comes as no surprise; he's rattled off six straight wins with a 1.27 GAA and .962 save percentage over that span. The Sharks and Rangers rank 20th and 12th, respectively, in total offense this campaign.
News: Varlamov (groin) is scheduled to face shots next week with the goal of returning to action after the All-Star break, Avalanche beat writer Rick Sadowski reports.
Impact: Varlamov's primary replacement option, Jonathan Bernier, has been phenomenal between the pipes, as he's fashioned an active six-game winning streak to give the Avalanche more traction in a tightly contested Central Division. This suggests that there's less urgency to get Varlamov (13-9-2) back into the mix, and a post All-Star Game return means he should miss at least five more contests.
News: Jost (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup against the Sharks on Thursday, Rick Sadowski of NHL.com reports.
Impact: With J.T. Compher (upper body) coming off injured reserve, you have to imagine Jost will find himself tagged for IR sooner rather than later. The team has not released a lot of details regarding the nature of the 19-year-old's ailment. If he is out long term, it would be the second lengthy absence of the year for the Alberta native, as he was sidelined for 14 games due to a lower-body malady earlier in the season.
News: Jost is dealing with an unspecified injury that could cost him some time, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
Impact: The Avalanche don't play until Thursday, which should afford the team ample time to reevaluate the prized rookie. Of course, Sven Andrighetto (leg) is also injured, necessitating a call-up for Dominic Toninato. Jost has shown flashes of his potential on the way to three goals and five helpers over 27 games. He's day-to-day by default until more is known about his ailment.
News: Tonintao was recalled from the minors Tuesday, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
Impact: The University of Minnesota-Duluth product has appeared in eight games with the parent club, with a single assist representing the rookie's point total over that span. He'll provide the Avalanche with depth in the wake of a leg injury to Sven Andrighetto.
News: Andrighetto (leg) will miss Thursday's game against the Sharks, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Andrighetto's unavailability Thursday marks his sixth straight absence from the Avalanche lineup, though his presence on the ice in a non-contact jersey, per Jesse Mentano of BSN Denver, is a good sign of his recovery, but also suggests he's still not ready for the rigors of a game. More information should surface as his return date draws closer, but his next opportunity now arrives Saturday against the Rangers.
News: Compher (upper body) will play Thursday night's game against the Sharks, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
Impact: Compher will need to be formally activated from the injured reserve list before he reenters the lineup Thursday, but there's no reason to think that he won't be able to suit up following a five-game absence. The Illinois native had found twine three times in the five games before going down with the injury, so he'll look to pick up where he left off with an Avalanche team that has won seven straight contests.

News: Blake Comeau had an assist in 16:55 of ice time in the Avalanche's 3-1 win over the Ducks on Monday. He took one shot and had a plus-minus of 1 for the game. Comeau now has 10 assists on the season.
Impact:
News: MacKinnon's second-period goal proved to be the game winner in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Ducks.
Impact: The NHL leader in home-ice scoring with 15 goals and 41 points in 24 games, MacKinnon is finally emerging in his fifth season as a true franchise player. Over the course of his current seven-game scoring streak, the 22-year-old has a whopping five goals, nine assists and a plus-8 rating.
News: Bernier stopped 33 of 34 shots in Monday's 3-1 win over the Ducks.
Impact: That's now six straight wins for Bernier, who's allowed only seven goals (1.27 GAA) and turned aside 182 shots (.963 save percentage) over that stretch. He'll cool down eventually, and Seymon Varlamov (groin) will be back in action at some point, but with the Avalanche putting up some impressive offensive numbers on home ice, Bernier may not need to be this sharp to keep racking up wins in the short term, at least in the Pepsi Center.
News: Andrighetto (leg) will not be available for Monday's clash with Anaheim, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
Impact: Andrighetto will miss his fifth straight game due to his leg ailment. Prior to getting hurt, the winger tallied one goal, three assists and 12 shots in his previous six contests. Two of the 24-year-old's points over that stretch came on the power play, where he is logging 2:45 of ice time for the season.
News: Bernier will be between the pipes for Monday's clash with Anaheim, Rick Sadowski of NHL.com reports.
Impact: Bernier is undefeated since taking over for the injured Semyon Varlamov (lower body), as he has registered five straight wins along with a 1.33 GAA. The last time the netminder squared off with the Ducks, he made 17 of a possible 18 saves on his way to victory. The 29-year-old will look to keep that momentum rolling Monday.
