Back from COVID-19 list The 49ers activated Taylor (undisclosed) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, per the league's official transactions report.
Impact Taylor missed the final two games of the regular season while on the COVID list. On the year, he caught 10 of 21 targets for 86 yards in 12 appearances. The 26-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
JANUARY 6 • ROTOWIRE
Placed on COVID-19 list Taylor was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Impact Taylor either tested positive for the virus himself or came in close contact with somebody that did. If it turns out to be the latter, then the receiver still has a chance of being cleared in time for Saturday's game against Arizona. Taylor has just 10 catches this season but plays a prominent role on special teams as the punt returner.
DECEMBER 23, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Nets 14 yards on return Taylor registered a 14-yard punt return while going without an offensive snap during Sunday's 41-33 loss to the Cowboys.
Impact Taylor made his return to the lineup Sunday after being deemed a healthy scratch for San Francisco's Week 13 and 14 matchups. The Louisiana Tech product was held without an offensive snap for just the second time this season, though he was capable of building upon a strong 12.4 yards-per-punt return average. The 26-year-old remains on the active roster as the 49ers prepare for a Week 16 road trip to Arizona.
DECEMBER 22, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Another healthy scratch Week 14 Taylor (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 14 tilt against Washington.
Impact The third-year slot man has now been a healthy scratch for two consecutive games, as the recent returns to health of Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk have pushed Taylor back down the depth chart. The 26-year-old's next opportunity to get back in uniform comes in a Week 15 road battle versus the Cowboys.

DECEMBER 10, 2020 • NINERNOISE.COM
Healthy scratch for MNF Taylor (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday night's matchup against the Bills.
Impact Week 13 marks Taylor's first healthy scratch of the 2020 campaign, with River Cracraft being inserted above him as the 49ers' No. 5 WR option. With varying availability of San Francisco's top receivers from week-to-week, the 26-year-old Taylor has been sporadically involved this season. He has posted six different appearances with 20-plus offensive snaps but five others yielding six or fewer snaps.
DECEMBER 7, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Returns two punts Taylor had two punt returns for 27 yards during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Rams.
Impact Taylor exclusively played special teams during the divisional matchup, which is the first time this season he hasn't seen the field on offense. Even River Cracraft saw a couple offensive snaps during the contest, as Taylor is clearly buried on the depth chart.
DECEMBER 1, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Active Sunday Taylor (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Impact The 26-year-old was considered questionable despite practicing with no limitations Thursday and Friday, so it's not a major surprise he's suiting up Sunday. Kendrick Bourne (undisclosed) and Brandon Aiyuk (undisclosed) are both back in action this week, so Taylor may not see significant offensive opportunities.
NOVEMBER 15, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Full practice, deemed questionable Taylor (back) is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Impact Taylor practiced without limitations Thursday and Friday, so he should be good to go barring a setback. The 26-year-old wideout was left out of the equation in last week's loss to the Packers when Richie James stepped up, and he could be pushed further down the depth chart with Brandon Aiyuk and Kendrick Bourne both returning to action.
NOVEMBER 13, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Ready to rock Taylor (back) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports.
Impact Taylor saw his reps managed Wednesday while tending to the back injury, but as evidenced by this news, he appears on track for Sunday's game against the Saints. With Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and River Cracraft (quadriceps) also dealing with injuries, Taylor could be in line for some extra work Sunday. Last week he saw a season-high 58 percent of offensive snaps, so he could see similar snap count in Week 10.
NOVEMBER 12, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Bothered by back injury Taylor (back) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Taylor's back injury is the latest addition to the long list of injuries to San Francisco's wide receivers. He may have picked up this injury during last week's loss to the Packers, but he's trending in the wrong direction to start the week nonetheless. His practice capacity Thursday will be critical for his Week 10 status. Brandon Aiyuk and Richie James were the 49ers' only fully healthy receivers Wednesday, but Kendrick Bourne (COVID-19 list) should be available for this Sunday's matchup against the Saints.

Fails to seize opportunity Taylor was held to one reception (four targets) for nine yards in Thursday's 34-17 loss to Green Bay.
Impact Kendrick Bourne and Brandon Aiyuk were held out of action due to potential exposure to COVID-19, so the 49ers were running thin at the wide receiver position. Taylor remained in the slot (58 percent of offensive snaps) and did not absorb any of the targets left behind by the two sidelined starters. Richie James (nine receptions for 184 yards and a touchdown) was the receiver to step it up, which could put Taylor's slot role in jeopardy going forward in the likely event both Aiyuk and Bourne are ready to go against the Saints following 10 off days.

NOVEMBER 5, 2020 • FANDUEL.COM
Posts 32 yards in losing effort Taylor had three receptions (four targets) for 32 yards in Sunday's 37-27 loss to Seattle.
Impact Taylor was promoted from special teams contributor to the 49ers' starting slot receiver following last week's injury to Deebo Samuel (hamstring). The 26-year-old was able to set new season highs in receptions and yardage while seeing the field for 50 percent of the team's offensive snaps. Samuel is expected to miss Thursday's contest against the Packers, allowing Taylor to remain involved in the offensive gameplan for at least another week. The potential season-ending loss of George Kittle (knee) could also lead to more opportunities on short to intermediate routes for the shifty wideout. For now, Taylor should only be considered an option in deep PPR formats.
NOVEMBER 2, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Should resume slot duties Week 8 Taylor -- who logged just three offensive snaps and received no targets Sunday -- should resume his role as the team's primary slot receiver for however long Deebo Samuel (hamstrin...
Impact Samuel suffered another lower-body injury in Sunday's 33-6 thrashing of the Patriots, and coach Kyle Shanahan said his starting wideout will "miss some time," Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports. Taylor has been relegated to special teams duties ever since Samuel returned from his first stint on IR, but the traditional slot man should resume his previous role for however long his teammate is forced to sit out. Jimmy Garoppolo has looked healthy and productive over his last two games, so Taylor could pop up in deeper PPR formats with an expanded role.
OCTOBER 26, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Just eight yards in win Taylor had one catch (two targets) for eight yards in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Rams.
Impact Taylor continues to sit at fourth on the receiver depth chart ever since Deebo Samuel returned from injury. It is hard to blame the veteran slot man for poor production when he sees just six snaps on offense. In his current role, there is nothing to reap from a fantasy perspective heading into a matchup against the Patriots on Sunday.
OCTOBER 19, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Exciting punt return in defeat Taylor collected 17 yards on his lone punt-return opportunity, but he did not garner any targets during Sunday's 43-17 loss to the Dolphins.
Impact The Louisiana Tech standout failed to register a target for the first time this season, as Deebo Samuel (eight), Brandon Aiyuk (six) and Kendrick Bourne (four) were the only San Francisco receivers to have a pass thrown their way against Miami. Taylor's season-high in receiving is 20 yards, as the 49ers head into a Week 6 matchup against the Rams' second-ranked pass defense.
OCTOBER 13, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Back on practice field Taylor (ankle) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, Keiana Martin of the 49ers' official site reports.
Impact Taylor had a bit of an injury scare Wednesday, as he popped up on the injury report with the ankle issue. As evidenced by this news, the Louisiana Tech product appears healthy for Week 5. Expect Taylor to assume his usual depth role at receiver, as well as being deployed as the team's punt return man.
OCTOBER 8, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up injury Taylor (ankle) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Impact It's unclear when Taylor suffered the injury, but he was unable to haul in his only target during Sunday's loss to Philadelphia. Expect Taylor's practice status throughout the week to be a better indication of his chances to suit up in Week 5. With Dante Pettis (knee) also dealing with injury, it's unclear how the receiver depth chart will look for Week 5.
OCTOBER 7, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Blanked in catch department Taylor did not haul in his lone target during Sunday night's 25-20 loss to Philadelphia.
Impact While George Kittle and Jerick McKinnon soaked up 56.1 percent of the target share, receivers Kendrick Bourne (six targets), Brandon Aiyuk (five targets) and Deebo Samuel (three targets) claimed much of the remaining passing-game work against the Eagles. Even with a myriad of injuries to the WR position in the early going of 2020, Taylor has only attracted five total targets the past three games. He was granted somewhat of an opportunity in the season opener against Arizona with five targets, but since that point, his offensive involvement has largely gone by the wayside.
OCTOBER 6, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
20 yards on lone touch Taylor caught his only target for 20 yards in Sunday's 36-9 win over the Giants.
Impact Taylor got the start at the slot receiver position for the third week in a row, but he was held to two receptions or less over that same span. Despite being up big for the majority of the contest, the 49ers still threw the ball 36 times, so volume wasn't the issue either. It simply appears that Taylor isn't very high in the pecking order for targets from either of San Francisco's signal-callers so far this season. The slot man will face another soft defensive matchup in Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football, but it would be tough to recommend Taylor based on the recent lack of production, especially if this ends up being the week Deebo Samuel (foot) is activated off of IR.
SEPTEMBER 28, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Musters up 10 yards Taylor caught two of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 31-13 win over the Jets.
Impact Taylor had an intriguing outlook with George Kittle (knee) sidelined in Week 2, but he made little impact and logged just 46 percent of offensive snaps. With Mohamed Sanu on board and Deebo Samuel (foot) potentially returning soon, Taylor's snap share could dry up quickly if he doesn't make an impact in Week 3 versus the Giants.
SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Catches two of five targets Taylor had two receptions (five targets) for seven yards in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Cardinals.
Impact Taylor clearly didn't have great chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo after missing most of the past two seasons due to injury. The five targets tied four other receivers for the team lead, so it is apparent that the 26-year-old is considered the primary slot receiver out of the gates. Despite occupying a significant role, Taylor won't have much fantasy value heading into a matchup with the Jets on a team that utilizes its tight ends and running backs heavily in the passing game.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Should see steady slot snaps Week 1 Taylor is expected to receive extended reps out of the slot in Sunday's season opener versus the Cardinals, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Impact San Francisco will take a banged-up receiving corps into Week 1, as four players are on injured reserve -- including top option Deebo Samuel (foot) -- while rookie first-round pick Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) is questionable for the contest and is expected to have a limited role if he does suit up. That should pave the way for Taylor to have a regular spot in three-wideout sets, potentially making the 26-year-old a decent DFS punt play in a game that has one of the highest projected over/unders of Week 1.
