A movie starring Will Smith that is slated to be released Christmas Day will center around the doctor who discovered CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Smith will play Dr. Bennet Omalu, who found CTE on the brains of several former NFL players. The film also features Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (who plays Dave Duerson), Luke Wilson (rumored to be playing Roger Goodell) and David Morse (playing Mike Webster).

The NFL released a statement to FOX Sports NFL insider Alex Marvez regarding the trailer on Monday:

"We are encouraged by the ongoing focus on the critical issue of player health and safety. We have no higher priority. We all know more about this issue than we did 10 or 20 years ago. As we continue to learn more, we apply those learnings to make our game and players safer."
