Watch Martellus Bennett scare Tom Brady during a Super Bowl presser

Tom Brady is normally a cool customer, but the even New England Patriots star quarterback admitted he was caught off guard when teammate Martellus Bennett unexpectedly interrupted his Super Bowl news conference Thursday.




Brady was startled while in mid-sentence when the Patriots tight end shouted, “Hi, Tom” from behind the curtain.

Brady immediately knew who was the culprit.

"Hi, Marty," Brady said. He then immediately admitted the gag "scared the crap out of me."

Bennett said he pulled the prank for Brady’s own good.

"He's Tom Brady. Like a blitzing linebacker, he sidesteps my jokes sometimes and throws it downfield and completes the pass," Bennett said, via ESPN. "I have to startle him and make sure he's ready for the game."
