Broncos DC Wade Phillips released from hospital after sideline collision
Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was released from the hospital after he was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers, the team announced.
The team said Sunday night that Phillips was fine and was expected back at work on Monday morning.
Chargers running back Melvin Gordon was forced out of bounds following an interception by Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby—which was eventually returned for a touchdown—and ran right into Phillips, knocking him to the ground.
He was immediately tended to by the team’s training staff, taken off the field and transported to a local hospital.
